This recipe is quick, easy and so delicious! I’m bringing this one back just in time for your Super Bowl Sunday festivities! Kaden’s homemade tortilla chips really take this one to the next level. Transfers easily if you’re taking this one with you! Add some shredded, cooked chicken or ground beef with taco seasonings for a complete meal.
2- 16 ounce containers sour cream
2- 1 ounce taco seasoning packets
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 medium onion chopped
1 medium tomato chopped
2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
salt & pepper to taste
Optional: sliced black olives
Serve with Homemade Tortilla chips (recipe below).
In a bowl, combine sour cream and taco seasoning. Stir until seasoning is well blended. Spread mixture on a large serving platter or bowl. On top of mixture, layer cheese, onion, lettuce and tomato. (do not stir). Serve with your favorite tortilla chips for dipping.
Kaden’s Homemade Tortilla Chips:
18 corn tortillas (package)
Chili powder to taste
Juice of 2 limes
Salt to taste
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. With a pizza cutter, cut tortillas into into 6 equal triangle “wedges”. In batches, place wedges on an uncreased baking sheet. Brush top with lime juice. Sprinkle with chili powder and salt. Bake for 6-8 minutes per batch or until desired crispiness.
Fit & Fabulous Tip: Substitute sour cream with full-fat Greek Yogurt. Make your own taco seasoning packet with 1/2 teaspoon each: chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, a pinch of cayenne, salt and pepper to taste. (preferably organic).
For Homemade Tortilla Chips, use multi-grain tortillas instead of corn.
